01Type & size

Choose a cutting profile, then enter your dimensions in millimetres.

For these length presets, first round D up to a whole millimetre, then multiply by 2, 3 or 4. For example, D = 11.1 mm rounds up to 12 mm, giving a standard flute length of 24 mm (2 × 12). Choose the shortest cutting length that clears your feature; extra flute length reduces rigidity.

Without a relieved neck, effective length equals flute length. Add a neck when the tool needs clearance beyond the cutting edges.

02Flutes

Four flutes are our versatile starting point for square and corner-radius end mills, especially for steel and general-purpose work. Ball-nose tools default to 2 flutes. For aluminium or cuts that produce larger chips, 2 or 3 flutes may offer more room for chip evacuation.

More than 4 flutes? Choose for a specific operation.

Additional cutting edges can support higher feed rates at a given feed per tooth and can suit finishing or light radial engagement. They also leave less space for chips. Most general-purpose enquiries can start with 4 flutes; tell us your material and toolpath before choosing a higher flute count.

03Tolerance & inspection

Every piece is checked with a ZOLLER measuring system. Specify any critical features for the drawing review.

04Your workpiece & application

We select the cutting geometry and coating solution for your application, drawing on 30 years of experience. Tell us the material grade, hardness and cutting conditions so we can match the coating to the job.

Leave this on supplier recommendation if you are unsure. You can also specify a coating for a repeat tool. We review the named coating against the workpiece, operation and coolant conditions before quoting.

05Quantity & OEM requirements

A standard catalogue tool may not provide the cutting diameter, corner radius or reach your part needs. Our factory can tailor cutting length, relieved-neck dimensions, shank diameter, flute count and tolerance around your drawing and machining setup.

For OEM tool brands and distributors, combine the tool specification with shank laser marking and box labels in one enquiry. Send the material grade, hardness and machining operation so our team can recommend geometry and coating for your application.

What are the minimum order quantity and lead time?

The minimum order is 5 pieces, with a standard lead time of 10 days. Include your required quantity and delivery date in the enquiry so we can confirm the production schedule for your geometry and coating.

Can you supply OEM end mills with our own branding?

Yes. Request your own shank laser marking and a sticker on the tool box. Include the marking text and packaging requirements with your RFQ; our team will review the details with your tool specification.

What tolerances and inspection do you provide?

The default cutting-diameter tolerance is −0.020 / +0.000 mm and the shank tolerance is h7. You can specify a different tolerance in the configurator or on your drawing. Every piece is checked with our ZOLLER system against the agreed specification.

Can I request a quote without a complete tool drawing?

Yes. Start with the cutter profile, key dimensions, workpiece material and application. We can recommend the cutting geometry and coating, then review the specification with you before production.
