Uncoated (bright-polished) corner radius end mills are optimised for aluminium alloys, copper, brass, and graphite — any material where coatings cause adhesion. The corner radius produces clean fillet radii in pockets and profiles without a separate deburring step. Polished flute surfaces prevent built-up edge (BUE) that would otherwise ridge the fillet radius in soft metals. 4 flutes maximise feed rate and achieve Ra < 0.8µm in aluminium at high spindle speeds. Radius options from R0.2–R2.5mm cover all standard fillet requirements.

Radius Selection Tip: R0.2mm is the tightest corner radius standard. In aluminium alloy, the R0.2mm arc is small enough to appear visually sharp but prevents the notching failure that destroys zero-radius tools. Use identical step-over and depth parameters as you would for a square end mill.

Machining Tip: ø2.5mm corner radius end mills need ≤ 0.003mm spindle runout. In aluminium alloy, use 0.01–0.04 mm/tooth chip load; the corner radius geometry reduces tool tip stress allowing slightly higher chip load than equivalent sharp-corner tools.
