8mm 4-Flute R1mm Uncoated Solid Carbide Corner Radius End Millfor Aluminium & Non-Ferrous Fillet Milling

Uncoated (bright-polished) corner radius end mills are optimised for aluminium alloys, copper, brass, and graphite — any material where coatings cause adhesion. The corner radius produces clean fillet radii in pockets and profiles without a separate deburring step. Polished flute surfaces prevent built-up edge (BUE) that would otherwise ridge the fillet radius in soft metals. 4 flutes maximise feed rate and achieve Ra < 0.8µm in aluminium at high spindle speeds. Radius options from R0.2–R2.5mm cover all standard fillet requirements.

Radius Selection Tip: R1mm provides the highest edge strength of commonly used radii. In aluminium alloy, DOC can be increased 20–30% over R0.5mm without chatter. Use for semi-finish passes that must leave a consistent stock allowance before a ball-nose finish.

Machining Tip: ø8mm is the production sweet spot for corner radius end mills. In aluminium alloy, radial engagement can be 30–50% of D for profiling, with DOC up to 1×D for semi-finish passes. The corner radius reduces chatter significantly at this diameter.
