12mm 4-Flute R2.5mm Uncoated Solid Carbide Corner Radius End Millfor Aluminium & Non-Ferrous Fillet Milling

Uncoated (bright-polished) corner radius end mills are optimised for aluminium alloys, copper, brass, and graphite — any material where coatings cause adhesion. The corner radius produces clean fillet radii in pockets and profiles without a separate deburring step. Polished flute surfaces prevent built-up edge (BUE) that would otherwise ridge the fillet radius in soft metals. 4 flutes maximise feed rate and achieve Ra < 0.8µm in aluminium at high spindle speeds. Radius options from R0.2–R2.5mm cover all standard fillet requirements.

Radius Selection Tip: R2.5mm requires careful feeds and speeds management — the curved cutting edge geometry changes effective rake angle significantly across the arc. In aluminium alloy, use conservative feed (60–70% of square end mill equivalent) until material behaviour is confirmed.

Machining Tip: ø12mm in aluminium alloy: use 0.5×D DOC for first passes to verify fixturing, then increase to 1×D for production. Corner radius is especially beneficial at this size where vibration-induced corner micro-chipping is common in hardened steel.
