2mm 4-Flute R0.5mm Uncoated Solid Carbide Corner Radius End Millfor Aluminium & Non-Ferrous Fillet Milling

Uncoated (bright-polished) corner radius end mills are optimised for aluminium alloys, copper, brass, and graphite — any material where coatings cause adhesion. The corner radius produces clean fillet radii in pockets and profiles without a separate deburring step. Polished flute surfaces prevent built-up edge (BUE) that would otherwise ridge the fillet radius in soft metals. 4 flutes maximise feed rate and achieve Ra < 0.8µm in aluminium at high spindle speeds. Radius options from R0.2–R2.5mm cover all standard fillet requirements.

Radius Selection Tip: R0.5mm is the most universal specification. In aluminium alloy, it provides the best balance of fillet feature accuracy, tool life, and chatter resistance. Recommended for all new mould base and structural component programmes unless design specifically requires R < 0.5mm.

Machining Tip: ø2mm corner radius end mills need ≤ 0.003mm spindle runout. In aluminium alloy, use 0.01–0.04 mm/tooth chip load; the corner radius geometry reduces tool tip stress allowing slightly higher chip load than equivalent sharp-corner tools.
