Compare China stainless steel end mill suppliers by SUS material, milling operation, geometry and trial evidence. Build a practical factory sourcing shortlist.
Choosing stainless steel end mill manufacturers in China starts with the workpiece, not the coating color. A cutter for a shallow finishing pass in 304 is not automatically a suitable choice for a deep slot in 316L or a heat-treated 17-4PH part. This guide compares five suppliers with relevant product routes and shows what to request before placing a trial order. The objective is to obtain a repeatable machining result and a specification that another production batch can reproduce.
China manufacturers and suppliers to compare
| Manufacturer / supplier | Published product route | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Solid Carbide Direct / KY Tools | SUS and titanium carbide end mill range; drawing-based enquiries | Match the listed geometry and coating to your specific stainless grade and toolpath. |
| AHNO | Catalog includes titanium and stainless steel end mills | Request the current series, available dimensions and application data. |
| GESAC | Dedicated Class M stainless steel end mill category | Ask which series is intended for slotting, side milling or finishing. |
| ZCC-CT | Difficult-to-cut-material end mill families in its product catalog | Check the material recommendation for the exact order code. |
| DOHRE | TEX stainless steel end mill category | Confirm flute geometry, coating specification and trial conditions. |

Separate the stainless grades before asking for a price
Put the material grade and delivery condition on the enquiry. Austenitic grades such as 304 and 316L, duplex stainless steels, and precipitation-hardening grades should not be treated as one interchangeable application. A supplier should explain its recommendation using the material and operation you provide. A broad claim that a cutter works on all stainless steels is not enough to compare quotations.
Match the cutter to the operation
| Operation | Information to send | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Full-width slotting | Slot depth, entry method and available coolant | Chip space, recommended engagement and evacuation plan |
| Side milling | Radial engagement, axial depth and holder stick-out | Geometry suited to that engagement, vibration control and edge condition |
| Thin walls or finishing | Wall thickness, finish target and dimensional limit | Cutting-force strategy, runout and measured finish |
| Deep pockets | Reach, neck clearance and fixture model | Shortest usable reach and clearance through the complete toolpath |
Do not select flute count independently of chip space and engagement. A supplier may recommend a different geometry for a light radial cut than for a full-width slot. Ask for starting data tied to the offered diameter, material and operation; a single speed and feed number without those conditions has little purchasing value.
Compare samples using an agreed trial sheet
Keep the machine, holder, stick-out, material batch and programmed toolpath consistent when comparing samples. Record the exact tool code, coating designation, cutting data and reason for stopping the test. Inspect size drift, burrs, finish and edge damage at defined intervals. If one sample is run with a different toolpath, document that as an application comparison rather than attributing the whole result to the cutter.
An attractive unit price can be outweighed by additional inspection, tool changes or scrapped parts. Compare cost per accepted component after the trial, including regrinding only where the supplier has confirmed a suitable route. Do not infer reliable production life from the best single sample.
Questions that distinguish a useful supplier response
- Which stainless grade and hardness condition does your recommendation cover?
- Which flute count and cutting length match our slot or side-milling operation?
- What dimensions and runout will be inspected before shipment?
- How are the carbide grade, coating and geometry controlled on repeat orders?
- Can you quote the sample batch separately from repeat production and identify any minimum order?
When KY Tools belongs on the shortlist
Use the Solid Carbide Direct SUS and titanium range to identify an initial geometry, then send the actual stainless application for review. For a reduced neck, unusual corner radius or nonstandard length, include the drawing and clearance requirement. The published product family is a starting point for quotation; application suitability and commercial terms should be confirmed for the exact tool.
